Chapter 4 A Big Shot
Konnor didn’t expect to meet Maryjane’s best friend here. But then Konnor thought that Maryjane’s family enjoyed a high status in Lakebell, so her best friend must come from a rich family too. Konnor went back to the bidding room. Before Konnor sat down, he saw several people coming in at the entrance of the venue, domineering. They directly sat in the front row after walking in, arrogant and defiant. Payton sent a sexy assistant named Melinda Ellish to follow Konnor. Konnor put on his mask, pointed to the last few people who came in, and asked, “Who are they?” Melinda pushed her glasses, pointed to a big head, and said, “That is Carl Dorsey of the Dorsey family, the richest family in Lakebell, and also our biggest competitor today.” The Dorsey family? Konnor blinked. Was Maryjane going to marry Harry, the disgusting fatty from the Dorsey family? Carl’s face twisted, “110 million dollars!” Konnor looked cold. “Bidding is a one-shot deal. How can there be multiple bids?” Carl pointed to Konnor’s nose with a ferocious face. “In Lakebell, what I said is the rule! I got 110 million dollars. The Dorsey family will take down this project!” Konnor picked up the sign and bided in person, “I will pay 130 million dollars!” Carl smashed his fist on the table, “Motherfucker! You’re challenging the Dorsey family in Lakebell. Do you lose your mind?” Sitting there, Konnor crossed his legs, “Is the Dorsey family very powerful?” Everyone present gasped. Who exactly was he? He actually dared to challenge the domineering Dorsey family in Lakebell? Carl angrily rushed to Konnor, clutching his shoulder, “I give 150 million dollars! Son of a bitch, here in Lakebell! The Dorsey family is the ruler! No one can rob what we want! If you don’t want to live, you can continue to raise your bid price!” Konnor was not afraid at all. He smiled at Carl, “160 million dollars!” Everyone was shocked. Carl grabbed Konnor’s collar and patted his side face. “Do you believe that I can make you disappear tonight!” Konnor grinned at Carl. The next second, Konnor brazenly reached out and punched Carl. Carl’s head tilted and he flew out. Konnor picked up a chair and smashed at Carl wildly. Konnor’s movement was fast and neat. It was done in a few seconds. After throwing away the chair, Konnor touched his ear. “Who else has a problem with it?” No one dared say anything. Konnor took out a card and handed it to Melinda. Melinda went to pay for the bid right away. So Konnor got the project successfully, and everyone was gossiping. Carl, with a bloody face, covered his head and said ferociously, “Investigate him! I need to know who the bastard is! I will kill him!” Konnor walked towards the room in which Payton was waiting for him. He left everything for Melinda to handle. In the room. Deanna rubbed her ankle, still cursing Konnor in her heart. “Grandpa, who on earth is this big shot you’re talking about? Do you have to come and see him in person?” Payton took a sip of tea. “I can’t tell you now, Deanna. Don’t talk nonsense when he comes. I haven’t figured out his temper yet.” Deanna curled her lips unconvinced. At least, the Harvey family was an invisible rich family in Lakebell, and they had pride in their bones. Now, she needed to be humble to a man that she had never seen before, so she was very curious and wanted to see what this so-called big shot looked like! Someone came in from the outside. “Sir, the bidding is over.” Payton just nodded. Deanna asked with ease, “Did the Dorsey family win the bid?” “No, someone else won it.” Deanna was dumbfounded. “What did you say?” “The Dorsey family didn’t win the bid. It’s someone else.” After Deanna regained her senses, she said, “Holy shit! It means that the Dorsey family just lost what they were about to get! Who dares to grab it away from the Dorsey family? How can he be bold enough to fight with the Dorsey family?” Payton chuckled, “Deanna, he is the one that we’re waiting for.” Deanna blinked, “Damn! He is so awesome. Wait, since the Dorsey family doesn’t win the bid, does it mean that they can’t cooperate with the Wilkinson family for the time being? Then the Wilkinson family won’t be able to get out of the red! Konnor was calling Seth to tell him about the bid. Accidentally, Konnor lowered his head. And he saw Deanna. Deanna immediately said to Konnor, “Are you blind? Did you close your eyes when walking? A motherfucker for takeaway!” After saying that, she left. With a sullen face, Konnor walked into the room. Payton immediately stood up to receive Konnor, “Mr. Bonilla.” Konnor pointed out the door. “I saw that girl just walking out of this room. Who is she?” Payton immediately explained, “She is Deanna Harvey, my granddaughter. She is unmarried and in good health. He admires you very much and has always wanted to meet you, Mr. Bonilla.”
