“Mr. Landor.” Susan had approached Charlie.
The latter looked at Susan with great interest. “Are you getting impatient?” Susan shook her head. She had only wanted to frighten Yana earlier and had no intention of actually telling Charlie those words.
Susan just calmly said, “Mr. Landor, I know that Ben is too busy with work. A small event like a wedding can easily be managed by me alone.”
“You alone?” Charlie was a little surprised.
He had thought Susan was just venting her frustration.
But as he observed her carefully, Susan’s gaze was clear, and her words were sincere. She truly meant what she said.
Susan nodded and was about to continue when a well–dressed woman nearby spoke kindly. “It’s not right to let the bride handle the wedding alone. This time, Ben is really being unreasonable.”
Charlie glanced at the woman, and he immediately frowned.
Susan also looked over.
Susan recognized that this woman was Penelope Landor, Ben’s stepmother.
Although Susan didn’t know much about the Landor family, Susan was
smart.
She knew very well that outwardly Penelope was defending her, but in fact, she was belittling Ben.
She knew that Ben was her pillar of support after she married into the Landor family.
How could she agree with Penelope?
Realizing that, Susan immediately said, “Mrs. Landor, the wedding is just a ceremony and not as important as it seems. Ben and I don’t care about it, so please don’t trouble yourself.”
Susan was implying that Penelope was being nosy.
Penelope was displeased, and her gaze towards Susan was as sharp as a knife.
Susan didn’t care about Penelope’s feelings. She only noticed that Charlie’s expression softened a little.

Then Susan looked at Charlie again. “Mr. Landor, work comes first, and we are not sure when Benny will finish his work. We can’t keep the guests waiting indefinitely, right?”

For a moment, some of his animosity towards Susan had dissipated.
Watching the impatient guests, Charlie considered for a moment and nodded, saying, “As long as you can accept it.”
“Alright,” Susan replied, feeling a sense of relief.
With an agreement reached between Susan and Charlie, the priest began the ceremony.
The groom was absent, and Susan, in her long wedding gown, stood alone in front of the priest.
The guests all felt strange.
A groom’s absence at his own wedding spoke volumes about his dissatisfaction, especially considering the rumors about Ben.
“She’ll probably be living a hard life in the Landor family,” people thought.
Some took pleasure in this situation, others sympathized, and some even mocked. The guests‘ reactions were varied.
But Susan just stood there quietly, like a pine tree that would never fall.
Just as the priest was about to say something, the door of the church suddenly swung open.
Susan turned back abruptly.
She thought, “Could it be Ben?”
She looked over with anticipation, only to be plunged into
disappointment the next moment.
The man standing at the door was not Ben.
It was Timothy.
He appeared weary from his journey.
But he stood upright.

Timothy fell silent for a moment before speaking slowly. “OK.”
“Well, good boy.” Yana playfully tapped his nose.
As the two of them interacted, seemingly oblivious to their surroundings, those who recognized Timothy began to gossip discreetly.
“It’s Timothy. The Miller sisters may not have a strong family background, but they seem to have good luck.”

But the priest continued with the original script, knowing that no one would answer.

Timothy frowned and almost stood up, but Yana held him tightly and said coquettishly, “Timothy, I suddenly feel a little dizzy.”
Timothy was stunned for a moment and subconsciously embraced Yana. He didn’t make any further move.
