Chapter 8
“Timothy, why are you here?” After a long while, a crisp voice rang out.
Yana looked at Timothy coquettishly.
Timothy came back to his senses and smiled subconsciously, “I just came out for some fresh air.”
A shadow crossed Yana’s heart.
She had thought that only Susan liked Timothy.
But it seemed that Timothy couldn’t forget Susan either.
Yana thought for a while and chuckled, “Timothy, don’t worry about Susan. We all know that Ben is not a good person to marry. I also told Susan not to marry him before, but she was attracted by the Landor family’s power, so we couldn’t convince her. Since this is her choice, and she has got what she wanted. I think she must be happy now.”
“Is that so…” Timothy’s mind wandered.
“Yeah.” Yana pretended not to realize it and continued, “By the way, does the company still need funding? I still have some savings; perhaps I could contribute.”
Timothy looked at Yana, his heart softening. “No, we’re not short on funds anymore.”
He recalled the difficult early days of his startup five years ago.
Without connections or capital, every step had been a struggle.
There had even been a time when the company was on the brink of bankruptcy, and he was about to give up.
But just when he was at his lowest point, an anonymous donation arrived at the company, accompanied by an encouraging letter.
Every few months thereafter, money and letters continued to arrive, helping him through the darkest times.
It took him some effort to finally get the sender’s contact information from her, and they began conversing every day.
He came to know that she was a girl and they were almost the same age. He gradually developed feelings for her.
Later he found out that the girl was Yana, so he confessed his love to her without hesitation.

They became a couple then.
Looking at Yana’s enchanting face, Timothy calmed down.
He was still worried about Susan.
But the person he truly loved was Yana.
Yana was the one who had saved him from the darkness.
He couldn’t betray her.
“Yana, thanks for what you did for me back then.” Timothy gently embraced her.
Yana chuckled and felt relieved.
She knew that Timothy was a man who valued loyalty and deep bonds.
As long as he continued to see her as the person who had helped him in the past, he would never abandon her.
Yana lowered her gaze. As for the person who had truly helped him… Timothy would never know who that person was in his lifetime.
It would be a secret forever.
Finally, the party came to an end.
After bidding farewell to the guests, Susan let out a long sigh of relief. “Susan, you must still be feeling a bit uncomfortable since you just married Ben and moved in.” Penelope smiled and said, “I have prepared another room for you. The servant will take you there.”
Susan hesitated for a moment and glanced at Ben subconsciously.
Ben remained composed, revealing no emotion.
Susan had no choice but to muster the courage to ask, “What do you mean by preparing another room? I’ve already married Ben. Shouldn’t we be living together?”
Ben glanced at her with a hint of amusement in his eyes.
Penelope’s expression became awkward.
Ben’s face looked so terrible. Even though Susan kissed him, Penelope still believed that Susan must find him repulsive.
That was why she had arranged separate rooms, partly to embarrass Ben and partly in the hope that Susan would be grateful.
She never thought that Susan would be so clueless as to reject it.
“Did I say something wrong?” Susan’s expression was innocent.

Charlie laughed, “No, no. The husband and wife should indeed live together. Ben, take Susan to the room.”
Ben agreed and glanced at Susan. “Follow me.”
Susan obediently followed up.
After walking for a while, Ben stopped.
Susan looked at him with confusion.
Ben said calmly, “There’s one more thing I forgot to tell you. Despite her claim to be my mother, I never acknowledged her. So, from now on, you can just call her ‘Aunt Penelope‘ like me.”
Ben didn’t hide his disdain for Penelope.
Susan immediately nodded. “I got it.”
“Okay, let’s go.” Then Ben continued walking.
Penelope was embarrassed, her face darkened.
Ben’s words were clearly intended for her to hear.
She couldn’t help but glance at Charlie. “Charlie, look at Ben. I’m still an elder in the family, and he…”
Charlie glanced at Penelope indifferently, “Then you should act like an elder and behave yourself first. I think you’ve been officious lately.”
Penelope panicked and hurriedly said, “What do you mean?”
Charlie gave her a meaningful look. “The Landor family is totally different from what it was ten years ago. The current state of the Landor family is entirely the result of Ben’s hard work. Do you think people show you respect just because of who you are?
“Penelope, you are not Ben’s biological mother. It was because Ben’s father passed away early, and I pitied you that I allowed you to stay. But that’s all it is, just staying. If you are smart, you should get along well with Ben. This way, you and Leo will live a comfortable life. But if you continue to do things you shouldn’t, I can’t guarantee that your days will. remain this comfortable.”
Charlie’s tone carried a warning.
Penelope gritted her teeth and said reluctantly, “Charlie, Leo is smart from a young age. When he graduates, the Storm Group…”
“Enough,” Charlie interrupted angrily. “What does the Storm Group have to do with you or with Leo? It’s the empire Ben has built with his hard work!
Penelope was even more wing to accept this. You can’t put it that
way. He was able to repand the company because of the foundation and *ection left behind by Benjamin Leo should rightfully have a share
the Storm Group as well”
Clare couldn’t stand it anymore. He said angrily. “Penelope, I didn’t expand you to be so greedy The Storm Group before was just a small Company Do you really think Ben’s success owes to Benjamin?”
Penelope fell silent, but her inner resistance was still evident.
Charlie didn’t want to talk to her anymore, so he said coldly, “For Benjamin’s sake. I’ll give you one last chance. Behave yourself and you can stay in the Landor family. But if you continue to harbor unwarranted ambitions, then you’ll get out of here.”
Penelope panicked at the thought of her being kicked out of the Landor family
She had done as she pleased before because of Benjamin’s strong bond with Charlie and Charlie’s sympathy towards her.
That was why she could stay in the Landor residence. But if Charlie stopped protecting her….
Penelope lowered her head and said gently, “Charlie, don’t be angry. I know I was wrong.”
Charlie didn’t care whether Penelope recognized her mistake or was just pretending. He simply gave her a cold look and said, “Remember what you said today”
Then he turned and walked away.
Once Charlie left, Penelope raised her head, and hostility glinted in her
eyes.
She thought, “This old man is still partial after all. They are both from the Landor family–I don’t believe that Ben is so much better than Leo! If Ben could succeed, why couldn’t Leo? Just wait! When my son graduates and returns, the Storm Group might not necessarily belong to Ben.”
