Chapter 766
Caroline stood at the clinic’s entrance and pointed at the long corridor.
Gewn was on the verge of crying again. “Well, let’s go.” She took Caroline’s hand.
Caroline looked at Gwen suspiciously and followed her into the car. Along the way, she felt a pair of eyes watching her. She tugged Gwen’s arm and asked, “Gwen, do you feel like someone is spying on us?”
Gwen immediately thought that it might be Kirk. It made sense. Of course he wouldn’t leave just like that. Even if Michael told him that he couldn’t let Caroline see him, he would find another way.
“I don’t think so. You must be overthinking things. Let me take you back to my place for now.”
“Huh? Why are we going back to your home?” Caroline was puzzled.
“I haven’t been home for so many days. Wouldn’t my parents be worried?”
Gwen was about to snap again, but she held back this time. “I already told them you would be staying at
my place for a while.
“Besides, your parents don’t know about your car accident yet. If you go home right now, they’ll definitely
be suspicious. Don’t you think so?”
Caroline thought about it and felt that Gwen made sense. “All right. Sorry to bother you again, Gwen.”
“Friends like us don’t have to say that anymore.” Gwen grinned at Caroline and drove slowly to her home. Although she drove very slowly, her car quickly disappeared from Kirk’s sight.
Sean looked at the car’s tail lights and asked, “Should we follow them?”
Kirk pinched the bridge of his nose. After a while, he raised his head and spat, “No.”
Sean hesitated to say anything in response. Was Kirk worried about being discovered if he followed them?
Sean sighed at the powerlessness Kirk felt. He was so close, and yet he couldn’t do anything.
More than an hour later, the footage of the incident at the clinic was sent to Avery.
After Avery finished watching the video on her laptop, Finn crossed his legs and smirked under his mask. ”
How about it? Are you satisfied with this outcome?”
Avery already had a wide grin on her face. “Absolutely. But I’m curious about something. What did you do
to fan the flames and cause this?”

Finn smiled slightly. “Would you believe me if I said I didn’t do anything?”

Finn chuckled. “As expected of the woman I like. You’re both cold and clever. You’re right.
He uncrossed his legs. “I did pull some tricks. For example, I instigated that Howard guy to barge into Caroline’s home with a gun and also helped Caroline’s cousin get to the venue.
“But that’s not important. So no one will notice my role in this, including my oh-so-smart little brother. Besides, he may never find out since he’s totally focused on Caroline now.”
Avery’s expression turned cold at his words.
Finn noticed the change in her expression, but he continued, “Oh, Avery. It’s not too late to change your
mind. I’m better for you than Kirk. After all, we’re equally cruel and ruthless.”
