Eddy looked at Caroline inside the room worriedly. “I rushed over when I heard Caroline was hospitalized.
Is she okay?”
“It’s none of your business if she’s fine or not. Also, could you please keep an eye on Layla?”

Gwen tired herself out and finally stopped. Then, she clutched her face in agony.
Looking at Gwen, Eddy said sincerely, “Gwen, believe me. I didn’t want this to happen. I only want to be with Caroline and complete Grandpa’s last wish.”
When Gwen heard that, she lifted her head to look at him. Her eyes were extremely red.
Gwen grabbed his collar abruptly. “Dying wish. It’s your grandfather’s dying wish again. Are you saying that Caroline should suffer once more just because your grandfather died?
“Do you remember how you treated her when she wished to get married to you? Yet, you want to get married to her now for the sake of your grandfather!”

“I’m fine.” Caroline turned her attention to the bouquet. “Are the flowers for me too?”

Eddy quickly placed the flowers before her. “Do you like them?” He kept his eyes on Caroline for the entire
time.
“Yes. I like it a lot. I think this is the first time you’ve gotten me roses, Eddy.”
When Eddy heard that, he looked at Gwen in disbelief.
Gwen had furrowed her eyebrows. Not wanting to witness such a scene, she turned around.
She couldn’t tell the truth to Caroline. However, she wasn’t willing to watch the latter get deceived either.
Gwen could only say helplessly, “Carol, I’m going to step out for a while.”
