Chapter 300 Why Are You Here?
Maia took only ten minutes to get to the resort. As she gave the keys to the valet, she ran toward the lobby without even putting on her heels.
“Is Cedric’s room on the twelfth floor?”
When the receptionist saw Maia, she immediately said, “Yes, Mr. Cedric’s room number is 1202.”
“Get me his room keys, please!”
Although the front desk receptionist was surprised, she remembered Bill’s instructions to fulfill all of Maia’s requests.
Maia immediately took off toward the elevators with the keys.
Inside the elevator, Maia gave Victoria a call.
“Hello, Maia? I enjoyed the show you put on!” Victoria teased approvingly.
“Are you in your room?” Maia asked urgently.
“Yeah, why?” Victoria could sense that something was wrong.
“Get to the twelfth floor, now!”
“Okay, I got it.” Victoria hung up without questioning her and left.
There was a direct elevator leading to the presidential suite. However, it took some time to get there. As Maia looked at the number of floors changing on the screen, she could not help but worry about Cedric’s safety.
‘Julie told me that Jane had given Fiona a drug to use on Cedric. What kind of drug was it? Why didn’t he pick up his calls? What’s going on? Did Fiona succeed?‘ Maia bit her lips in frustration and clasped her hands tightly together. ‘Fiona, you bitch!‘
Maia dashed the presidential suit. Just as she was going to unlock the door, there was a loud noise, and a woman dressed in a sheer sheet was thrown out of the room.
As Maia looked at the body on the ground, she noticed it was Fiona.
Fiona was still recovering from being thrown as she lifted her head to meet Maia’s eyes.
“Maia?”
Maia glared at her and grabbed her by the wrist roughly.
Fiona struggled and yelled, “Maia, let go of me!”

Victoria got to the scene and saw the state that Fiona was in. Instantly, she understood what had happened.
Victoria gasped and covered her mouth in shock. “Why is this woman here? Don’t tell me she tried to sleep with him?”
“Vicky, bring her downstairs. Don’t let her get away!” Maia shoved Fiona to Victoria.
“Right, don’t worry.”
Victoria was no push–over. She grabbed onto Fiona and restrained her.
Victoria looked at the tightly shut door and said, “Maia, you should check on Cedric. I hope nothing has happened to him.”
Before Maia could respond, Victoria dragged Fiona toward the other end of the corridor.
“Who are you? Let go of me!” Fiona continued to struggle as she tried to push Victoria away.
Victoria was frustrated as she lifted a foot and stepped on the back of Fiona’s heel. “If you keep making a scene, I’ll strip you and leave you in the main lobby!”
When the entrance closed behind Maia, she could no longer hear Victoria or Fiona. She bit her lips and looked at the tightly shut door before her. ‘Was he okay? Why was it so quiet inside? How did he manage to throw her out?‘
Thousands of questions flashed across Maia’s mind as she contemplated whether to enter the
room.
‘Since he’s capable of throwing Fiona out, does this mean he’s okay?‘ Maia stopped in her tracks as she thought about this. Maybe it was better for her not to enter the room. She did not want any other trouble.
Just then, a loud smash came from the room. It sounded like something was being thrown against the wall. Maia rushed into the room.
The room was a mess. Before she could react, Cedric grabbed her wrist and shoved her against the wall. “I won’t touch anyone else but Maia! If you decide to push yourself on me, I will kill
you!”
Maia lifted her head to meet his eyes as the door slammed shut. When Cedric finally saw that it was Maia, his fearful aura vanished.
Maia could see Cedric’s handsome face in the dim lighting. His breathing was labored as his brows were knitted into a deep frown. One of his palms was bleeding. Maia could also smell the scent of blood mixed with a strong perfume.
Maia could put two and two together from his initial reaction. She was sure Cedric had assumed that Fiona had re–entered the room again after he threw her out.

The next thing she knew, Cedric leaned against her as their noses touched. This made her blush in surprise.
“Why are you here?” He asked in a low, husky voice as he eyed her closely.
“I’m here to save you.” Maia bit her lips and spoke.
“Save me?”
“I received a call from Baz. He told me you might be in trou-”
Before she could finish, Cedric pushed her onto the bed next to them and got on top of her. Maia could not react in time!
