After ensuring everything was fine, Caroline followed Sean onto the plane.
She held Gwen’s hand reluctantly. “Gwen, are you sure you don’t want to leave the country with me?”
Gwen glanced at Sean, but he had already turned his head and looked away. “Carol, I’ll go over to see you
when I can. Make sure to rest and recuperate out there.”
After hearing what Gwen said, Caroline knew she wouldn’t be coming with her. Feeling disappointed, she
said, “I’ll take good care of myself. Take care of yourself as well.” 1
“Yeah, I will.” Gwen looked longingly at Sean.
After a moment, she couldn’t resist asking, “Can we talk in private, Mr. Yates?”
Sean had no choice but to face Gwen. He looked down and held back his emotions. “Okay.”
The two got up and walked along the corridor to another room. The moment the door closed, Gwen
hugged Sean.
Her actions startled Sean, but they slowly filled his empty heart.
“Sean.”
“Yeah?”
“Take care of yourself too.” Gwen had a lot of things to say, but in the end, this was all she could tell him.
Sean slowly placed his trembling hand on Gwen’s head. “All right, you must take good care of yourself
during my absence. Also …”
He looked at Gwen sternly. “You can’t think about any other guy. I’m the only one you can think about.”
Gwen smiled slightly at his words. “Okay.”
When Sean heard her agreement, his eyes were filled with joy. “Remember what you promised.”
“I will.”
Gwen held Sean’s hand, and his heartbeat accelerated at her touch.
Meanwhile, Cheryl stood next to the plane. She was panting and holding a sweater in front of Jack, who
was covered in blood. Her eyes were filled with distress.
“You’re not hurt, right?” she asked with concern.
“I’m fine.”
Jack’s eyes landed on the sweater Cheryl was holding. He said hopefully, “Is this for me?”
“Yeah.” Cheryl slowly took out the sweater and handed it to Jack.
“I started knitting this a few months ago. I hope you like it.”
Jack was overjoyed as he took it. “Of course I do! I like it very much! Thank you, Cheryl.”
Cheryl’s cheeks turned crimson. “I’m glad you do.”
The two of them stood in silence until the staff on board came to remind them of the departure. Then, Jack reluctantly said goodbye to Cheryl.
The plane slowly took off into the sky, taking Caroline into the unknown.
Meanwhile, Eddy was still in the country. After learning that his men had had failed to intercept them, he smashed the expensive wood sculpture.
“Useless pieces of trash! You guys are absolutely useless! Why the hell do I still pay you?”
Simon and the head of security were both elderly people. But they could only let Eddy scold them as if he
were lecturing a child.

someone out of their territory.
After finishing his rant, Eddy sat on the couch, exhausted.
“Mr. Eddy …”
“Get out!” Eddy pointed at the door.

“Didn’t you guarantee that I would marry Caroline?”

Eddy suppressed his anger. “You’re one of his people, aren’t you?”
