Chapter 19
Lia definitely didn’t want to draw any attention to her relationship with them.
Meanwhile, Ralph’s expression had become extremely gloomy. An almost palpable chill surrounded him. He watched as Lia and Jacob walked away, his sharp eyes glinting dangerously.
There was an indescribable emotion bubbling in his chest, and it felt as if it could explode at any
moment.
Amber timidly tugged at Ralph’s sleeve, biting her lip uneasily. “Ralph, did I say something wrong? Lia has found another man so quickly. It just seems so unfair to you!”
The banquet hall gradually quieted down.
Jacob, accompanied by Lia, walked to the center of the crowd, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.
“Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of Flying Hawk Entertainment’s shareholders, I am pleased to introduce to you the new director of Flying Hawk Entertainment, Ms. Lia Adams. Let’s give her a warm welcome!”
The room erupted in applause.
Although the crowd didn’t know about Lia’s background, the appointment of a new director wasn’t anything unusual. However, when Amber heard the announcement, she became upset. She had set her sights on joining Flying Hawk Entertainment, but now Lia was the director?
“Ralph…” Amber looked anxiously at Ralph. There was a brief look of panic in her eyes.
Ralph pursed his lips and frowned slightly. He said in a cold voice, “Let’s talk about it later.”
He couldn’t believe that Lia had been appointed as the director of Flying Hawk Entertainment. That was a position of real power. How did she achieve it? Was it because of Jacob?
Ralph’s expression grew even darker.
Everyone crowded around Lia, congratulating her enthusiastically.
Meanwhile, Ralph sipped at his drink, feeling a cold sensation in his chest. He gave half-hearted responses to those who came up to talk to him.
Amber, who was standing beside him, received a lot of attention and compliments from the other guests. Many socialites and ladies of high standing came over to talk to her. She soon found herself surrounded by people.
When the crowd around Lia dispersed, Jacob was still busy talking to the people around watched as Lia leaned against the piano, listening to the band playing a cello piece. The corners of her mouth were slightly raised, and she seemed to be in a good mood.

Ralph took a glass of wine and walked over slowly. The alcohol burned his throat, and his eyes became red and bloodshot,
He stood in front of Lia with an aloof and condescending attitude. His expression was cold, and his eyes were as deep as the sea. A faint scent of alcohol wafted off him, light but strong,
“So, you’ve been appointed as the director of Flying Hawk Entertainment. Who is your backer?”
Ralph stared at the calm and gentle woman in front of him. His mind was in turmoil, but on the outside, he showed no signs of it and looked calm,
He took a step forward, his tall figure looming over her. He placed the glass heavily on the piano, and then he put one hand on the piano behind her. His other hand gently held her slender waist, pulling her toward him.
“As a shareholder of Flying Hawk Entertainment, it’s not too much for me to ask about it, right?” Ralph asked in a low and deep voice as he looked at her steadily,
He couldn’t help but notice how soft and slender Lia’s waist was. Had Jacob also been swayed by her?
Thinking about that, Ralph’s expression became stony, and he tightened his grip.
In the next second, Lia suddenly bent and raised her knee, hitting him hard on the lower part of his body.
Ralph’s face turned pale with pain, and he couldn’t stand up straight. He doubled over and almost knocked into Lia. His hands unconsciously clenched into fists, and he broke out in a cold sweat.
Lia stood there, looking at him coldly and indifferently. Her lips curved up in a teasing smile, and she said softly, “Mr. Walters, as a small shareholder of only 3% of the shares, what right do you have to question the decisions made during the shareholders’ meeting?”
Her preparations over the past three months hadn’t been in vain. Her attitude was cool, haughty, and full of disdain.
Lia didn’t like being near him because she could smell Amber’s strong perfume on him. Even if it was a personal revenge, he deserved it!
Seeing him in pain and struggling to endure it, Lia felt a great sense of satisfaction.
