The door was pushed open with a loud bang. Kirk raised his head and looked at the door.
When he saw who had arrived, he was momentarily stunned. Then, he shoved the glass bottle at his neck.
Seeing this, the newcomer barged into the room and kicked the bottle out of his hand.
However, Kirk didn’t give up. He picked up another piece of broken glass and tried to stab it into his neck.
“Fine, do it if you want. If you’re dead, I’ll have one less rival.”
The man’s voice made Kirk stop. He looked up at the newcomer, who was none other than Adrian.
Taking advantage of his distraction, Adrian snatched the glass shard from Kirk’s hand.
He looked down and noticed the wounds on Kirk’s hands. Kirk’s skin had gotten cuts from the glass.
He wordlessly took a towel from his bag and tossed it at Kirk.
Kirk glanced at him, but he didn’t accept the towel.
Adrian sat down opposite him and ignored him. He simply sneered, “You have big balls, don’t you? If you
don’t treat that wound, it’ll get infected.
“When that happens, you won’t be able to survive anyway. Well, that’s good. Without you as my rival,
maybe Caroline will be with me.”
Kirk silently picked up the towel and covered his hand with it. Then, he struggled to sit up from the ground.
After a long while, he asked, “Why are you back here?”

“Do you think I could stay away after hearing that something had happened to Caroline?”
Adrian looked at Kirk. He had already considered beating up Kirk before returning to Easton, but now …
“How do you know about that?”
Kirk said coldly, “Seems like you were paying a lot of attention to her despite being in Macldo.”
“Of course,” Adrian said.
“But I didn’t find out that something happened to her because I was focused on her.”
He had been confused when he had seen the news of Caroline and Eddy’s engagement.
However, he hadn’t rushed back to Easton because of the engagement. He had returned because Quentin

That made him more certain that something had happened to her.
“All right, tell me what’s going on. Why did Caroline agree to get engaged to Eddy out of the blue?”
Kirk looked up at Adrian. They hadn’t seen each other for a while, but Adrian had changed a lot.
He was less jovial than before. Instead, he was more gloomy. However, he was also calmer.
Kirk looked away. “She lost her memory.”
As his rival in love, he should hate Adrian right now. However, he could still talk to him calmly. He had to
admit that fate could make even the strangest things happen.
“She has amnesia?” Adrian was shocked.
“How could this be? Then … haven’t you ever thought about helping her get her memories back?”
“Get them back, you say?” Kirk smiled, but that smile was filled with sorrow.
“I can’t even be around her.”
“Why?”
“The doctor said that our bond is too deep. My presence will affect her.”
“No way.”
Kirk looked up at him.
Adrian said hesitantly, “… So, you’re saying that Caroline has been affected by this before?”
Kirk opened a bottle of wine and said despondently, “Yeah.”
“Is it serious?”
“Yeah.”
“So her condition is bad enough when she doesn’t see you. But it’ll be worse if she does.” Adrian
sympathized with Kirk’s dilemma.
“Then, what are you going to do? Are you planning not to see her for the rest of your life?”
