Chapter 13
Jacob weakly allowed Lia to cling onto his neck and shake him. He was helpless against her.
She had been gone for three years, but she behaved the same way upon coming back.
“There were some issues abroad, so I had to stay a few days longer. I brought you a gift!”
Lia was Jacob’s only sister, and he had always looked after her since they were young. Even during the three years that she wasn’t home, he continued to leave gifts in her room.
Lia watched as Jacob brought out two different colored bags of the same design. He said, “One for each of you!”
They were limited edition bags that cost over a million dollars, yet he ordered two of them in one go. One for his mother, and one for his little sister.
Eleanor received it with a smile and said, “I have so many bags like this. It would be great to use this when buying groceries. Thank you, Jacob!”.
Lia and Jacob were at a loss for words.
Before the meal, Lia took out the divorce certificate she had just obtained.
Eleanor glanced at it. While she did not say much, her strained expression eased significantly.
“After losing your way, it’s never too late to turn back. Mom and Dad will always give you the best of everything.”
Daniel nodded and said, “I’ll get the general manager position ready. You can come to work at the company tomorrow.”
Lia froze. She knew that she couldn’t avoid this any longer.
She sighed and said, “Don’t give me the general manager role. Let me have the chance to work with a smaller company first. Otherwise, I won’t be able to handle the open or secret attacks directed toward me.”
Eleanor nodded and looked at Daniel. She said her thoughts aloud, “You can come work at Flying Hawk Entertainment for now. I have a vacancy there.”
Of course, Daniel and Jacob didn’t object to that.
Recently, Walters Corporation had been making big losses. Their every move was discussed by the
masses.
Today, Lia received a call from Sophia, Ralph’s grandmother.
Before this, Lia had been rejecting calls from the Walters family. Thus, this was the first call Lia received from Sophia after cutting ties with them.

Back then, she was married to Ralph with nothing to her name. She had to endure the humiliation others threw at her, but Sophia was the one who treated her the best.
After thinking about it for a while, she decided to answer her phone.
“Lili, come home for dinner. Today is my birthday, and I need you here.”
Lia paused and said, “Grandma, I…”
Before Lia could tell her that she had divorced Ralph, Sophia interjected furiously, “Ralph is too busy with work and won’t be home today. I will be angry if you don’t come too.”
After thinking for a moment, Lia decided to accept Sophia’s invitation.
It worked better for Lia if Ralph was not home. She could take this opportunity to personally say her goodbyes to Sophia.
Lia chose an emerald pendant from the safe for Sophia as a present. It was an antique costing eight figures bought by Daniel from a random auction. It was rare for an antique of such quality to be found. So, he brought it home for Lia’s amusement.
Lia believed that Sophia would like it.
After that, she went into her walk–in closet. Eleanor liked to periodically supply Lia’s closet with various branded clothes. Any random item was haute couture.
Currently, Lia did not have to concern herself over her clothing choices. She had long left the Walters‘ residence and did not need to adhere to their ‘respectable styling.‘ She chose a tight–fitting white dress and headed out with the bag Jacob gave her.
The garage was lined up with cars, and there were more than ten cars that belonged to her alone.
She chose a more discreet Maserati and headed out.
The old Walters estate was a garden–themed classical building. It was built on an extremely strategic location and every inch of the land there cost a fortune. It covered an area of almost 21,500 square feet, and the building looked opulent and lavish.
Before this, Lia would come here to spend time talking to Sophia. Other times, she would go with Ralph’s mother, Quinnie Ford, over for high–tea and a game of cards.
In reality, those visits were an opportunity for Quinnie to nag on Lia. Her favorite topic was to ask her to start a family with Ralph soon.
The guards at the entrance did not recognize her car and stopped her. After he looked at her, he rushed to ask the others to open the gate.
When Lia had parked her car, she could hear the cheerful chatters emitting from the inside. She hadn’t even set foot into the house, but she knew it was livelier than usual.
Once she stepped inside, the cheerful chatter came to a halt.
Chapter 13
Her delicate snow white sidn and dazzling eyes greeted the masses. It granted her an indesk türkle dv of elegance and beauty. Not to mention, she was involved in the recent scandal about the Walters family.
It was no surprise that she’d become the center of attention.
Lia took a quick glance at the crowd and noticed the child held by Quinnie.
Instantly, Lia’s expression changed,
It was Amber’s child.
