Chapter 21
Lia’s calm mind was disturbed,
She didn’t care about how Amber and Ralph had humiliated her.
However, she couldn’t accept Amber arrogantly mocking her child’s life as worthless.
Amber’s every word was like a dagger to her heart. It made her heart ache.
Without warning, Lia raised her hand and swung it hard toward Amber’s face.
A loud smack sounded.
As soon as the slap hit her face, Amber fell backward. In the next second, she tumbled down the stairs.
A terrified shriek echoed throughout the banquet hall.
Everyone watched the scene in shock.
Ralph ran over immediately when he heard the commotion.
With dark eyes, he looked up in shock at Lia, who had a cold expression on her face.
Amber leaned into Ralph’s embrace, wincing in pain. Her forehead was covered in blood, and her body was trembling.
She cried, “Since Ms. Adams still blames me for what happened, it’s useless for me to apologize. She just wants me dead.
“She said that I wasn’t worthy of being an actress. Ralph, do you think she’ll ban me from the industry?”
Ralph shot Lia a deep and complex look.
Lia walked down the stairs slowly and gracefully.
Her smile widened when she heard Amber’s words.
“Why would I ban you? You’re made to be an actress, Ms. Gray. It would be a pity if you didn’t act.”
After Lia said that, the people around them broke into an uproar.
Wasn’t Lia insinuating that Amber was good at pretending?
Ralph frowned. The air around him chilled.
He said coldly, “Lia, just come at me instead if you have something against Amber. Aren’t you afraid of the consequences of pushing her down the stairs?”
Only Ralph was afraid of something happening to Amber. Why would Lia be afraid?
Lia chuckled with malicious satisfaction.

“It’s a shame that she didn’t die. I won’t just push her down the stairs from the second floor next
time.”
She didn’t bother to explain herself. Nobody would believe her anyway.
Lia figured she’d let Amber have her way since she enjoyed acting so much.
Threats worked better than explanations anyway.
With that, she turned around and left. Her heels clacked against the floor as she walked.
Lia’s bearing was so powerful that no one there dared to even ask a question.
Those in the industry were used to seeing power plays like that. One was the newly–appointed director of Flying Hawk Entertainment, while the other was just another pretty face.
Everyone knew whose side to take.
Ralph carried Amber to the lounge to be treated by the doctor on standby at the venue.
Meanwhile, the banquet continued.
Upon his return, Jacob heard about what had just happened. His face turned grim.
Lia went over to comfort him with a smile. “Don’t be angry, Jake. She wouldn’t actually harm herself.”
Jacob’s voice was cold as he said disdainfully, “She’s such a despicable person.”
After that, Lia went to the restroom.
When she came out, she was surprised to see Ralph standing there elegantly, waiting for her.
The corridor was silent.
She walked over calmly. Suddenly, her arm was grabbed.
“Lia, are you satisfied now that Amber is injured?”
Ralph’s tone was somewhat displeased. Seeing Lia’s indifferent attitude, he felt even more upset.
Lia shook off his hand in disgust.
“I’ll only be satisfied if she’s dead.”
