Chapter 24
Lia chuckled. Amber knew that Lia was the director, but she still dared to join the company,
Yoel added, “There will be a dinner gathering for the production team and those five newcomers tonight. Would you like to attend as well?”
Given Lia’s position, she didn’t have to go.
Lía raised her eyebrows and said casually, “I don’t see why not…”
The dinner was held at Dream Club, a private club in Fallburgh City. It was an entertainment hub for the wealthy.
Lia and Yoel entered one after the other.
Yoel held Lia’s bag for her while she looked down at her phone.
Then, a group of young men walked toward them.
“Mrs. Walters?”
Lia was startled. These people were Ralph’s friends.
She frowned slightly. She wondered if they even knew about the divorce.
One of the men, Bernard Simmons, approached Lia with a smile.
“Mrs. Walters, are you here for Ralph? He’s currently busy getting drunk in the private room.”
Lia paused and smiled.
“Ralph and I have already divorced. Just call me by my name from now on.”
Bernard and the others were stunned. They watched as Lia and Yoel walked away while chatting happily.
Bernard asked the staff for Lia’s private room number before heading back to his own private room.
In the private room, Ralph kept drinking, but he wasn’t drunk at all.
He sat in the shadows. His whole body blended into the darkness.
Bernard opened the door and sat down across from Ralph.
“Are you really divorced? I just saw Lia entering a private room chatting and laughing happily with another man. She told me not to call her Mrs. Walters!
“Amber’s not worth it, Ralph. She might have been your first love, but you should’ve known her true colors ever since she ran away with the money.
“On the other hand, apart from her family’s background, Lia is absolutely worthy of you in terms of appearance and ability!”
Everyone felt that it wasn’t worth it for Ralph to divorce Lia just to be with Amber.
Ralph sat there quietly with a cold expression on his face. He gripped the wine glass in his hand tightly,
Ryan Shaw, who was sitting near the door, had a completely different opinion,
“What’s wrong with Amber? It was Ralph’s mother who wanted to separate them back then. If Amber hadn’t left, his mother would have found other ways to deal with her!
“On the contrary, Lia had ulterior motives, She wanted to use Ralph to climb the social ladder. Their marriage was nothing more than a transaction. We should be happy for Ralph now that they are divorced!”
Everyone fell silent.
Then, they heard the sound of glass breaking coming from Ralph’s direction.
Ralph had slammed the glass on the table, causing it to shatter,
The atmosphere became tense.
Ralph got up quietly and walked out. His entire body smelled like alcohol.
Bernard immediately followed him and whispered something in his ear.
Ralph continued walking, but he didn’t go to Lia’s private room.
Instead, he requested for another private room so that he could rest. He just wanted to be somewhere quieter for a while.
There was an indescribable emotion in his heart that was tearing him apart on the inside.
After some time, he received a text message. He took a look and saw that it was from Amber.
“Help! I’m in Room 8808 of Dream Club.”
Ralph’s expression changed, and he suddenly stood up.
8808 was the private room where Lia was. Bernard had mentioned that to him earlier.
Ralph headed to the room and heard hysterical crying coming from inside.
He kicked the door open and went in.
Ralph was stunned when he saw the scene inside.

Amber rushed over to him, sobbing pitifully and aggrievedly.
There were around nine people in the room, but Lia wasn’t there.
Ralph breathed a sigh of relief.
The atmosphere in the room was somewhat awkward.
