Chapter 25
Ralph patted Amber on the shoulder.
“What happened?”
Before Amber could speak, a cold voice came from behind them.
“What’s wrong?”
After greeting the production team, Lia had left the room to take a call.
She looked at the scene in front of her and glanced at Ralph coldly.
Amber sobbed and said, “Lia wants me to serve as a hostess!”
After saying that, she cried even harder. She looked as if she wanted to die because of the humiliation.
Everyone present was extremely shocked.
Ralph’s face darkened. He shot Lia a cold and complex look.
Lia sneered and corrected her, “That’s Ms. Adams to you.”
Amber had no right to call her by her first name.
The producer of the show, David Morgan, walked over to where they were standing. He was soaked in wine.
David explained anxiously, “It’s a misunderstanding, Mr. Walters. I invited Ms. Gray for a drink, but she refused. Then, she slapped me and threw the wine at me. I really didn’t force her to do anything. Everyone here is a witness!”
“That’s right. It’s fine if she didn’t want to drink. What’s with the attitude?”
“No one forced her to drink, but she still slapped David. She’s so rude!”
The others chimed in to explain one after another. They found Amber’s reaction absurd.
Ralph’s face was tense and grim. He frowned in anger.
It was obvious that he didn’t believe their words.
“Ms. Adams, do you believe what David said?”
Ralph had called Lia “Ms. Adams“, which showed his cold attitude toward the whole situation.
Lia had heard of David. He was a well–known producer in the industry. He led a decent life and had never been involved in any scandals.
She glanced at the others and said, “I believe him!”
She believed that everyone present there was more trustworthy than Amber.

Yoel stepped forward and nodded at Lia.
“Ms. Adams, Mr. Morgan was telling the truth. He didn’t force Amber to do anything, but she overreacted…”
Amber cried even louder. “You’re lying! They are all ganging up on me. Ralph…”
David felt wronged, but he couldn’t explain himself further. Amber had made it seem as if they were all really bullying her.
David hated Amber, but he didn’t dare to offend Ralph, who was her backer. He could only turn to Lia for help.
Lia raised her eyebrows and chuckled.
She interrupted Amber and mocked, “Don’t worry, Ms. Gray. I won’t let a middle–aged mother like you be a hostess!
“Everyone else here is younger and more beautiful than you. They aren’t blind. Mr. Walters is the only one here who’s fond of you since he has a rather unique taste.”
Amber’s crying stopped abruptly. She stood there with a pale face.
She looked as if she had been slapped in the face. She felt so embarrassed that she wanted to hide.
Indeed, Amber was eight years older than the other four newcomers. She was the oldest among them.
A beautiful young lady, who was one of the other four newcomers, sneered, as if to reaffirm Lia’s words.
The atmosphere became tense again.
David regained his confidence thanks to Lia’s support.
He gritted his teeth and said, “Ms. Gray, you’re a great actress. You’ll definitely win an award in the future!
“I don’t think you need to be on my show. With Mr. Walters around, it’ll be easy enough for you to get any leading role you want anyway.
Amber froze slightly.
She looked a little nervous, but she quickly regained her composure.
It didn’t matter if she had offended a producer since she had Ralph anyway.
Ralph’s eyes were cold and dark. He had a complex look on his face.
Ralph should have believed Amber, but he wavered at that moment.
The mocking glare in Lia’s eyes seemed to burn him.
Ralph pursed his lips and glanced at Amber.
“I’ll get someone to send you home.”
