Chapter 26
Amber was silent as she nodded while sobbing.
It wouldn’t do her any good to stay there any longer.
Amber realized that Lia was no longer as easy to deal with as before.
Lia averted her eyes from them disdainfully and looked at David instead.
She said politely, “I’m sorry that the dinner was ruined. I’ll make it up to you next time. Why don’t you go and change your clothes first?”
David nodded at Lia and glanced at Ralph. He was probably still wary of him.
Ralph pursed his lips. After calling someone to pick himself and Amber up, he turned back and looked at David solemnly.
“I’ll be investigating this whole incident thoroughly.”
As soon as he left, David breathed a sigh of relief and couldn’t help complaining, “Where did that big shot come from? Amber is such a drama queen. I’ve been in the industry for so many years, but no one had ever dared to mess with me until now!”
Lia smiled awkwardly.
She admired Amber for gaining Ralph’s unconditional trust. Amber really had some clever tricks up her sleeve.
As a result, the dinner that day had to be canceled.
Lia and Yoel arranged for someone to send everybody home.
The two of them were the last to leave.
Right after exiting the elevator, Lia’s heels got stuck in the gap between the elevator doors and the floor. Yoel instinctively supported her and squatted down to help free her shoes.
Lia breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. “Thank you, Yoel.”
Yoel was dazzled by her smile. He lowered his head shyly.
“Don’t mention it, Ms. Adams.”
That scene was witnessed by Ralph, who was standing nearby. His face was gloomy.
The next moment, Ralph strode over to them.
Lia was startled when the tall figure suddenly appeared in front of her.
When she saw that it was Ralph, she frowned slightly and became more vigilant.
“Mr. Walters, why haven’t you gone back yet? It’s getting late. Aren’t you going to accompany Amber

so that she isn’t alone?”
Ralph shot Yoel a cold and hostile glance.
“First, it was Jacob, and now it’s him. How many men are you going to have by your side?”

Bernard had mentioned earlier that Lia had seemed to be quite close with another man. He guessed
that Yoel was that man.
Ralph felt an inexplicable anger.
He had already clarified the previous misunderstanding. So, why hadn’t Lia forgiven him yet?
Lia’s face instantly darkened. Her bright eyes were cold.
“Ralph, do I need to remind you of the fact that we are already divorced? How many men I have around me has nothing to do with you!”
At the mention of the divorce, Ralph’s face darkened.
Thinking of the scene where he had been forced to sign the papers, he felt utterly frustrated.
Ralph’s eyes were unsmiling. He gritted his teeth and took a step forward.
“Don’t go too far. The divorce news hasn’t been announced yet. What you’re doing right now can be considered as you being unfaithful to me!”
Upon hearing that, Lia gave Ralph a strange look.
How could he have the nerve to brazenly accuse her of being unfaithful? He was the one who had actually been unfaithful to her! Was he not right in the head?
Lia couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Then, she glanced at Yoel and said, “Let’s go.”
Yoel nodded slightly. He was about to step forward to carry Lia’s bag for her, but before his hand could even touch her bag, he felt a strong force slamming into him.
Ralph burned with rage as he watched Yoel and Lia’s intimate interactions. As a result, he had grabbed Yoel and punched him in the face.
Yoel’s mouth was bleeding as he looked up at Ralph in shock.
Ralph unbuttoned his cuffs slowly. A cold air surrounded him. He looked down condescendingly at Yoel without losing even a trace of his ferocity.
“Ralph, are you crazy?”
